Welcome to My Blog!

For those of you who are unaware, I have accepted a Fulbright Fellowship to teach English at the International University of Central Asia. For ten months, I will be living in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan and serve as a cultural representative and English teacher between the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic. While there are many things I do not know yet (where my apartment will be being the biggest one), I do know that I will be working and teaching at the International University of Central Asia. A small university founded in 2008, the school offers an “American model of education” on the subjects ranging from English, Chinese and international relations to economics, business management and information technology. With only a few hundred students at the university, it will be a great opportunity to connect with my students and the community. Since many are unfamiliar with the country, my first few posts will give basic information about the country and the city in which I will live, Tokmok. I hope you continue to read my blog, and share this experience with me as I explore the country and learn more about its rich culture and history.

Note: If you are wondering where the name of the blog comes from, it is a reference to where I am from and where I am going. I was raised in Tallmadge, Ohio, a small city located in Northeast Ohio.
